Kathryn Kaye Spence is an emerging writer of creative fiction and non-fiction. She likes to combine imaginative ideas with experiences she has gained through travel, reflection, and working in research as a neonatal nurse. She loves to write a story that takes her into untested areas and challenges her thinking.
She has written several short stories, some are available here on her blog. She is currently working on two novels at different stages. The first novel is almost completed and she will soon start searching for a publisher, the second is a historical fiction set in central west NSW in the 1850s.
Kathryn is a member of Writing NSW, the Australian Society of Authors, and the Faber Writing Academy.
Kathryn writes with two other women who are known as the Rue Berger Writers. Their first book Living Out Loud has just been published through Busybird Publishers and is available in selected bookstores and on Amazon.
Kathryn has been a nurse consultant for many years and has many professional publications in peer-reviewed journals. She was awarded a member of the Order of Australia (AM) for her services to neonatal nursing, professional organisations, and education. Her book a reflection on the development of neonatal nursing in Australia titled Neonatal Nursing: A Personal Essay was published by Busybird and is available on Amazon.

Kaye your ‘Gentle Winter’ story transported me completely in a longing for the beauty of quiet places.
Thank you for the book suggestions.
Good luck with all your writing endeavours.
Thank you Vicki. Sharing our writing is so important and as I write more the desire to share gets stronger. I hope others reading my stories will give me feedback as I strive to improve.
