Poetry

King Street on a Rainy Sunday Afternoon

Cars splashing as they crawl

Buses groaning to their stops

Pink, green and blue hair

Sculptured and molded

Cafe lattes on tables

Books in boxes on pavements

Have you any spare change?

Asks the beggar on the box

Young, old and in-between

Walk in groups, pairs and alone

Laughing, talking, smoking

Music thumping out of bars

Still, rain falling on cars
