Kathryn Kaye Spence is an emerging writer of creative fiction and non-fiction. I like to combine imaginative ideas with experiences I have gained through travel, reflection, and working in research as a neonatal nurse. I love to write a story that takes me into untested areas and challenges my thinking.
I have written several short stories, some are available here on my page. I am currently working on a novel, a historical fiction set in central west NSW in the 1850s. It is almost complete and I will start the review and publication process. I also enjoy writing short travel essays to capture specific insights into my travels.
I am a member of Writing NSW, the Australian Society of Authors, and the Faber Writing Academy. I also belong to the Women Writers Network through Writing NSW.
I have written with two other women and we are known as the Rue Berger Writers. Our first book Living Out Loud has been published through Busybird Publishers and is available in selected bookstores and on Amazon. Books – Buy Books Online from Amazon Australia
I have worked as a nurse consultant in newborn intensive care for many years and I have many professional publications in peer-reviewed journals. I was awarded a member of the Order of Australia (AM) for my services to neonatal nursing, professional organisations, and education. My book on my reflection on the development of neonatal nursing in Australia titled Neonatal Nursing: A Personal Essay was published by Busybird and is available on Amazon.

Kaye your ‘Gentle Winter’ story transported me completely in a longing for the beauty of quiet places.
Thank you for the book suggestions.
Good luck with all your writing endeavours.
Thank you Vicki. Sharing our writing is so important and as I write more the desire to share gets stronger. I hope others reading my stories will give me feedback as I strive to improve.
